MTAgent — The Freelancer's Assistant

A freelance work manager: projects and clients, Kanban tasks, work timer with billable hours, invoices and receivables, Jalali due-date calendar and built-in tools that prevent disputes with clients — offline-first with cloud sync on web, Android, iOS, Windows and macOS.

MTAgent — The Freelancer's Assistant

MTAgent grew out of years of freelancing: most client disputes are about scope and payment. Beyond project management, MTAgent has built-in answers for exactly those disputes.

Key features

  • Projects and clients: status, contract, deposit and due date for every project with a full client profile.

  • Kanban tasks with checklists and drag-and-drop; a work timer per task with automatic billable-hour calculation.

  • Professional invoices and receivables: record payments and always see outstanding balances.

  • Dispute-proofing: an agreed scope of work (what is and isn't included, free revision count), scope-change records with extra price and time, and milestone-based delivery and payment.

  • Jalali due-date calendar, offline-first with cloud sync, a free plan and monthly/yearly Pro subscriptions.

Technical architecture

The client is built with Flutter for web (PWA), Android, iOS, Windows and macOS and shares the offline-first architecture of MT Apartment: local SQLite as the source of truth, versioned change events and two-way sync with a Laravel back-end. The data model is organised around Project → Milestone → Task with many-to-many labels, and scope changes are independent, approvable records (with price and time) attached to a project so the agreement history is auditable. The timer stores start timestamps rather than ticking counters, so it stays accurate across app restarts and device sleep, and billable hours flow directly into invoice line items. Due dates render on a Jalali calendar with exact date conversion.
